About Us
Hi! I'm Joe, the cofounder of Better Coffee. Otto is the other half and he's behind me fixing a machine as I write this. The two of us make a pretty great team, we both started as self-taught technicians and over the last ten years have worked in all parts of the industry.
We've owned, operated, managed and helped open cafes. We've roasted, white labeled, wholesaled coffee. We've also now certified and warranty approved technicians for a laundry list of brands of espresso machines, grinders, brewers, roasting machines, and more.
Our mission with Better Coffee is to take care of the technical solutions so you can focus beyond equipment.
To do that and avoid those panicked calls with water all over the counter or a jammed grinder in the middle of your morning rush, we've developed a framework that keeps your machine happy and healthy. Think of it like buying a car. You need to change the oil after so many kilometers. It's the same idea for espresso machines but with shots pulled. You invested in this huge piece of equipment that runs electricity and water through it all day every day - you want it to work.
We're aware that good things aren't cheap, so we've built relationships with partners and developed programs to keep costs predictable and manageable. We personally know what it's like to work in this industry with very tight margins, remind me to tell you the story of when I opened my first cafe! Because of this we value transparent and valuable solutions for your business.
Not only are we good at the technical and business side, but we are both passionate baristas and Otto is the 2025 Canadian Aeropress Champion! We can't wait to see him compete at the World Championship in Seoul, Korea this December.
